This is the first step, one lesson or ten. I have relationships with grounds in Hampshire and Surrey.

Emerging Clay Pigeon Shooter
Once you’ve been shooting for several months up to a year, you’ll probably start to measure your enjoyment from your hit rate, at some point you would have noticed there are more hits than not and now achieve over 50% score rates.
Instead of just burning cartridges embedding a poor technique, you should be thinking about some lessons. This lesson is targeted at understanding shooting methods, gun down benefits, correct execution of gun down, what if I miss mount from gun down, refine gun hold and visual pickup points.
We start on something simple, straight going away so I can understand your style of shooting. I will then identify the biggest two opportunities. There could be more but we need to take this one step at a time or the improvement may not stick. I don’t talk about forward allowance (lead) too much as this is the last issue to be fixed after we have a sound technique. Someone who focuses on the target, moves the gun well has excellent timing, and forward allowance will be understood quickly through consistency.
Utilising grounds in North Hampshire, this is a 1:1 lesson with follow-up notes and observations on request.
One hour (plus clays and Cartridges) – £79
Two hours* (plus clays and Cartridges) – £149
(*this is the maximum 1:1 as intensive Coaching is very demanding on the shooter)
Competing Registered Clay Pigeon Shooting
Now you’re shooting well at your local club we now need to find more challenging targets and accept that scores could decrease.
This lesson focuses on understanding the registered competition rules, ensuring correct CPSA Membership, and how to plan for the shoot and perform to the best of your ability.
Lesson structure:
– Observation and Analysis: method of shooting appropriate, trend results, look for obvious and subtle corrections in your technique.- Feedback: depending on the observations section agree
– Planning: cover pre-shot routine, assessing gun hold, method selection, gun up or gun down.
The lesson can be conducted at your preferred ground by arrangement.
Two hours* (plus clays and cartridges) – £149
Two Hours Shared (plus clays and cartridges) – £149
(*this is the maximum 1:1 as intensive Coaching is very demanding on the shooter)
Teaching – CPSA Clay Pigeon Shooting Instructor, Coach Pathway
Once you’ve mastered your technique you may want to consider Instructing, details on the CPSA Instructor process can be found here.
In my view the CPSA runs the best Instructing course, this course is designed for you to have the ability to teach a novice shooter on a simple target. Utilising the three R’s of Result, Reason, and Remedy the CPSA course is effective at teaching a novice or emerging shooter.
There is considerable investment in the process, before committing time and cost if you would like to understand privately 1:1 if you have the ability I can offer bespoke tuition for anyone considering taking up the program. After the lesson, I will provide a written plan to achieve success at the Instructor Development Workshop and Course.
Two hours (plus clays and cartridges) – £149
Team, Group Clay Pigeon Shooting
Why not get a group of 3 to 20 together for a fun clay shoot?
All equipment provided, and qualified Instructors along with me. I will make sure the event runs smoothly from arriving at the venue to celebrating the winner.
We always use lighter guns and cartridges so there’s very little felt recoil for the shotgun.
Get in touch so we can work something out.
Based on 25 or 50 clay shoot minimum of three people.
25 Clays £79 per person.
50 Clays £149 per person
F.A.Q.
Payment can be made via Bank Transfer (always appreciated) or card payments can be accepted.
Please make sure to dress for the weather, we can continue to shoot. I will make sure we press on without rushing.
I use 12-bore and 20-bore Shotguns. Both shoot the same cartridge load (pellets) and will do the job!
There are two main issues that we need to get right, firstly use an appropriate load, I use 21 gram smooth burning load.
The other imperative is a fitted gun, like having a made-to-measure jacket I will make sure the gun fits you.
